CHRIST’S SYMPATHY TO WEARY PILGRIMS

WHAT A BOUNDLESS, FATHOMLESS OCEAN!
Eternal love moved the heart of Jesus to relinquish heaven for earth—a diadem for a cross—the robe of divine majesty for the garment of our nature; by taking upon Himself the leprosy of our sin. Oh, the infinite love of Christ! What a boundless, fathomless ocean! Ask the ransomed of the Lord, whose chains He has dissolved, whose dungeon He has opened, whose liberty He has conferred, if there ever was love like His!What shall we say of the ransom price? It was the richest, the costliest, that Heaven could give. He gave Himself for us! What more could He do? He gave Himself; body, soul and spirit. He gave His time, His labor, His blood, His life, His ALL, as the price for our ransom, the cost of our redemption. He carried the wood and reared the altar. Then, bearing His bosom to the stroke of the uplifted and descending arm of the Father, paid the price of our salvation in the warm lifeblood of His heart! What a boundless, fathomless ocean! How is it that we feel the force and exemplify the practical influence of this amazing, all commanding truth so faintly? Oh, the desperate depravity of our nature! Oh, the deep iniquity of our iniquitous hearts! Will not the blood drops of Jesus move us? Will not the agonies of the cross influence us? Will not His dying love constrain us to a more heavenly life?

Organ Donation

Lately I have been given at least 2 opportunities to speak of my transplant experience with a special focus on organ donation and the great need there is for more people to become organ donors. I realize that in the kind providence of God I might not be here today without someone giving to me this special gift. I know that this person who gave of his heart also gave of his kidney the same night I was transplanted. You can probably tell that by the change in profile pictures I am trying to spread the word or bring a fresh awareness to this important issue, of organ donation. I am trying not over bearing on this because I realize that it is a individual decision. I recently asked a dear brother in Christ how organ donation fits in the realm of theology that we believe in and his response that we should all act because as he put it so much has been given to us that we should want to give back to someone in need. He was speaking from a spirit of giving I have also had a gut-wrenching conversation with a parent whose child has been born with congenital birth defect, and this little one needing an organ transplant. They are professing Christians and submitting to the Lord in this matter but also in their conversation were asking prayer that their child would continue to life through a organ donation resulting in a transplant, if that would be in the plan of God. All I would ask is that you consider this important subject and act accordingly as you are lead.

Please consider and watch this…………..

Trusting the Lord

I have been trying to learn more about WordPress and learning how to set things up. Thanks to Pastor Andy for helping me with this.

As some of you know I have a heart transplant in May. Part of the recovery process is having heart biopsies done ever so often to check basically for rejection but there are other things they check for to like medication levels in your system and pressure between your lungs and heart and things like that. Well yesterday on Thursday I had another biopsy and received the results today.  Well, today I received the disappointing news that I have gone back into a mild rejection (1R), This is the 3rd time in the 8 months since my transplant that this has happened. We have always treated this with increase in dosages of med’s, which has always brought the rejection percent to 0. So I am hopeful; this will be the case this time as well. I will probably have another biopsy in a month or so to see if there has been any change in the rejection. I know that the Lord rules and reigns in the time of disappointment as well as times of joy and happiness.
I will trust Him.
Thank you in advance for your prayers, and for the many words of encouragement some of you have already communicated to me.
Continue to be strong in the Lord

Did you know that as of Jan.11, 2008 there are over 98,000 people in this country alone needing a transplant. Most of them are Kidney and Liver but over 2600 people are in need of a heart transplant. And if you were to divide that into 50 states that is not a good ratio. From Jan. 2007-Oct.2007 that there were 23,703 transplants done of which 18,833 organs came from deceased donors and 5,315 came from living donors. This information was based of a web site called The Organ Procurement and Transplantation network. www.optn.org/data

Please consider this important issue and act accordingly as you are lead. Well may the Lord continue to bless and keep you.

I have decided to maybe move my blogs from Xanga and Myspace to here. I will admit that most of my blogs or postings will be in regard to a life-changing event in my life, and that being a recipient of a heart transplant in May. I have very few opportunities to share my story and have found this to be a good forum in which to do so. I don’t know if people shy away from me and the subject or they would wish i would talk about other things, but this has been a very momentous event in my life, and this is a good way of helping me deal with this new event in my life. And along the way hope to encourage you the reader by seeing how the Lord answers prayer, and to help me in this new journey of life. Well thats about it for now I just wanted to let you know this is where I will be for a while.
